Runner's High: Getting Married During Marathon

Katie Holmes -- not that one -- and Eric Johansson didn't stroll down the aisle, they ran.
The two had known each other before running the Portland Marathon five years ago, but after they bumped into each other near the 20-mile mark, they started dating. When they decided to get married, the two Portland natives figured there was no better place to tie the knot than the spot where it all began.
So last weekend, Holmes, 35, and Johansson, 37, veered off the marathon path at the 20-mile mark and into a group of friends and family. She wore white with a veil attached to a baseball cap while he wore a Dri-Fit Tuxedo shirt.
The couple celebrated for a few minutes after the ceremony before rejoining the runners and finishing the race.
"It's wonderful, the best day," Holmes told KPTV. "Very memorable. The most memorable marathon ever, I think."

OVERCOME YOUR 10 BIGGEST FEARS

RELATIONSHIPS

My friend once told me, the best opportunity to learn is'' intra-personal'', because none is perfect living here. You are not God, you're still a learner no matter your age. Just learn what you don't know and don't be afraid of making mistakes because they're inevitable to man.
Accept your mistakes for it allowe's you to wellkom in new idear's, it's about you!

Do you feel like your relationships are almost always ruined because you're scared? Scared of commitment because it did not work out before? Scared of being abandoned like your friend was? Scared she or he'll cheat on you, like my girlfriend did? ENIYE CHARLES lists the top phobias that make you want to run and hide when love comes to town.

FEAR OF COMMITMENT
If you would agree with me, it's human nature to want to protect yourself, and commitment to someone or something with no proof is a scary thought.
CHARLES is so scared of commitment that it kept him from keeping a relationship for years. ''People who knew me are aware that he hasen't had a girlfriend since his secondry school days,'' he confesses. ''I dated a couple of girls in my university days, but none ever lasted. The minute a girl gets more involved in my life, i run for the hills. It's my cue to leave. I guess my fear of commitment comes from getting hurt in the past. I know i will never conquer my fear until i hill the pain inside. ''Charles hits the nail on the head - your fear of commitment comes from somewhere. Try and figure out why you shy away from long-term arrangements, and work through your emotions. Be honest with your partner about your fear; she or he might help you work through your issues. If you feel like you can't deal with the fear by yourself, get professional help.

FEAR OF ABANDONMENT
If you have seen abandonment - your dad leaving your mom, perhaps, you might assume that it is inevitable that your woman or man will also abondon you. Your logic will have you shun relationships forever, but love is an emotion, and it's not guided by logic. That's why they ''only fools fall in love''. We all have to calculate the risks when we fall for something, someone. You can let your fear consume you and drive you crazy or a little and enjoy the good times.
If she or he abondons you, think of it as an opportunity to meet the one that was meant for you.

FEAR OF ABUSE
Many woman or men who 've dated abusers can testify that their partners were not abusive from their first date. Abusers behave very well until they know that you are hooked, and then the abuse begins. If this is one of your biggest fears, make sure that you are aware of signs. The controlling usually starts very early on, and it escalates. If the problem persit, it's your cue to get o going.

FEAR OF CHANGE
It's only natural that you may be a bit concerned about how married life is going to change you as a person. I am not married yet but trust me, marriage is like an omlet, and it is as good as it eggs... The entire world expect you to change, talk differently. Whether you change at all is entirely up to you! But, juggling your time between running a household and working a nine-to-five job is very demanding, and it's easy to lose yourself in the process. You 'll only lose yourself if you let yourself go and let your dreams dissipate into oblivion. Hang on to the things that you lovve, and put time aside to do them. Balance is the holy grail of married life, but many have struggled to achieve this. Discuss your fears with your partner and accept his or her help and support. Delegate chors- she or he may be more than willing to help out. Plus, if you can pay for help, go for it!

FEAR OF INFIDELITY
Does monogamy actually exist? We've seen great women and men risk it all for a side piece. Do all woman or men cheat? Why do they cheat? Maybe Tiger Woods has the answers to these questions. Although we know that not all women and men cheat, we're still not sure if those who don't are ever tempted to. Maybe they're all to cheat sometimes, and it just depends on who has more self control. Until we manage to actually get into their brains, we can never really know the answer to why most women and men cheat. The only way you can get over the fear of infidelity is to stop assuming that all women and men are the same, and that sometimes life just happens. Rather be the girl or boy who gave it a try than the one who never tried at all. Who knows, woman or man may just turn out to be that one in a million. If life happens and she or he chears, know that you are much stronger than you think. It may not seem possible when this happens, but you will move on, and you will become a stronger person.

FEAR THAT YOU ARE NOT THE ONE
My biggest fear has always been ending up with a girl who knows in her heart that i'm not 'the one' for her. She knows that i'm just her 'in-the-meantime guy'. In my opinion that is so unfair becacse i could be out there looking for my soul mate,'' says Dan*, 30. Some women or men get into relationships knowing that there is another woman or man who is the one''. In that case, you only have yourself to blame. But you could go into a relationship believing you are the one, only to find out later that it's not the case; in these cases, it's not something you can control. However, finding out as much as you can about your girlfriend or boyfriend's pervious relationships can give you some clues to her or his track record and your chances together. Remember, it really doesn't hurt to ask the question and demand an honest answer.

 TO BE CONTUIDED.

THE PART RELIGION HAS PLAYED

Today, about one and half billion people claim to belong to one of three religions: Judaism, Christianty, Islam.

JUDAISM: Is a religion of the jews, they claim to be the followers of the law of moses.

CHRISTIANS: These are people who claim to be the followers of Jesus of Nazareth whom they view as the messiah, or christ.

ISLAM: These are people who call themself's muslim, or mussulman. These two words have an interesting meaning which simply means: person surrened to God.

Believers in all these religions claim that their religion is the true one. Yet we have to ask ourselves:
Why have none of these religions prevented mankind from comming into the critical situation that we see around us today?
A close look at these followers of religions will help us to understand.
Let us examine, first, the adherennts of judaism: Have these really followed the law of moses and served God the way moses did? Have they acted in harmony with his words?
For example, moses said to the forefathers of the modern-day jews who lived in his days: ''A prophet from your own midst, from your brothers, like me, is what Jehovah our God will raise up for us- to him we shuuld all listen. (Denteranomy 18:15) When did that prophet appear? well, he did not appear during the time that the holy book of the jews were being written. In fact, some jews are still waiting for him.
But consider, about fifteen hundred years after moses pronounced that prophecy, a man did apper who, in his minstry, born a striking resemblance to moses. Moreover, these were more than three hundred prophesies in the books accepted as holy by the jews that were fulfilled in this remarkable man.
These man himself said to the jews: If you believed moses you would believe me for that one wrote about me. (John 5:46) In spite of this, the jews of those days rejected him. Who was this man? Jesus, who was called the christ, or anointed surely, those who rejected the one promised by moses cannot really be viewed as worshiping God the way moses worshiped him, can they?
What about those who claim to be christians, who say that they do accept Jesus? Look at the hundreds of millions of peoples around the world who belong to the countless confusing sects that claim to be christian.
Can you actually believe that they are all worshiping God the way Jesus did?
Many religions claiming to christian use icon or image in their worship. Would Jesus have done these? Moses, who prophesied the coming of Jesus, warned: We must not make for ourselves a carved image or a from like anything that is in the heavens above or that is on the earth underneath or that is in the waters under the earth. We must not bow down to them nor be induced to serve them...

What extent has the world's religions help mankind to sub-mit to God's rule?

UNDERSTANDING REALITY RELIGION

This well-written book examines the many aspects of creation and religion and really takes you through the author's lifetime journey with religion. He addresses many of the questions that he had since he was very young in this book. How did it all begin? What was there before and what will happen when it ends? How can a good God allow so much evil in the world? And what he finds at the end of the day is Reality Religion.
There are many definitions of Reality Religion. The one that is used by Ward in this book is: Reality in this book means taking account of the whole situation. We do not speak of God in doctrinal terms. "We take the known facts, the record of the Almighty's goodness and also his terror from the battlefields, genocides and all the wrath of God of Nature, the tsunamis, tornadoes, and floods. We maintain it is necessary to examine the negative, offensive side of God along with his goodness and mercies in order to better understand his nature and the course of his people."
Ward does a good job examining the many faces of God throughout his book. I especially liked the chapter on "The Many Bibles We Follow: Creating Your Own Scripture." The author encourages us to write our own bibles and find God in the everyday things. He finds God in inspirational readings, the opera and my favorite are his excerpts from his woodland journal where he meditates and observes nature with his dog, July 4. "For the creatures of the forest, insects and all, every day is a Fourth of July freedom day. My dog, with a stars and stripes bandana next to his collar, sits panting, also contemplating this thought. He has restraints, collars and leashes. But the creatures are totally free. Free to go about where they will: free to twist and turn, to spin in midair, to see new territory, to reverse their courses. They neither own nor cede property. They can seek new shelter, new dreams and new hopes. They can pray to whomever they want-- to the wood god, the wind god, the leaf god." (page 80)
Throughout "Understanding Reality Religion" the author brings in many valid points that encourage the reader to think about God and come up their own definition of God and religion. This is a very thought-provoking book to read for those of you who are asking questions about God and evaluating religion.

FALL TRENDS TO AVOID

Dear readers,
I think in life, there is no one that has ever made it that has not being helped.
I know we are every inch as gorgeous as fashion model, but that doesn't mean we should be trying every trend or look that traipses down the runways.
These're some key things to keep in mind when dressing namely our body type, our environment, and our taste level. I 've pinpointed the worst of the worstfall from extreme shoes to crazy hats and every in between, so we 'll know what and what to avoid when spending our hard earned money.
Come to think of it, some thing aren't ment for life outside the runway.

Avoid:

(1) Extreame footwear: Stadded, furry and heel- less might be fun to look at, but we 'll regret the purchase in a matter of hours. Jumbo hats- even if your name is joe franko, there's no real world application.

(2) High collared boxy dresses: They hide our shaps and lack versatility to blend with the rest of our wardrobe.

(3) Ironic graphic sweater- leave them in the past: No grown woman needs a shapeless sweatshirt with a comic strip on it.

(4) Oversize pocket- They add bulk and i think if we need that much storage, get a handbag!

(5) Colored fur- It's a pricey purchase that can't be worn every day.

(6) Huge leather jacket- They look sloppy and repurposed, like we pulled our dad's forgotten jacket from the ''90s.

Will this help us amplify our style? tell me what you think!

 LOVE

She asked me if she was pretty, i said no.
She asked me if she was too fat, i said yes of course.
She asked if i wanted to be with her forever, i said no.
She said if i walk away, she would cry, i said is her business.
I had heard to much, and need to leave and,
as i walk away... She grabbed my arm and told me to stay.
She said... do i know you not handsom, you're very kute!!!
The only thing fat, or big, about her is her heart
She don't wont to be with me forever, she need to to be with me  forever
And babe, i wouldn't cry if you walked away... i would die.
How far can you go for the one you love?

LETS LIVE AS ONE

Why can't we live as one?
So much problems...
 No solution,
 people living in, confusion,
 too much politic,
too much religion, lead the valencies...
The world is our stepping stone,
 the word makes us efficient,
go for the word, keep saying it,
 don't stop talking it...
Inefficiency nah em brake us all.
When some people lack of knowledge and some confused,
 they will always disagree!
And if my brothers and sisters,
 fathers and mother,
uncles and aunties is wise a naff from being a Vitim,
 i'll be glad...
When i look at you what do i see?
  I see brightness for tomorrow.
I wont let you down,
and i hope you don't let me down cause am depending on you...
All for one, one for all.
So be strong and let your conscience set you free!
I see Nigeria milling to a greater nation...
But as long the inefficiency of the system and lack of love,
effort's of the past, present and future will be in vanity vanishing.
Just tell your paddy say no leeleee!
 Baba God has done it.
 He said,
 with all very efficient,
when wrong seems right and right seems wrong,
just be careful... its a done deal!
Blaze with pride and always remember,
 A drug free child,
is the pride of is motherland...
my country Nigeria, your country Nigeria,
 our country Nigeria... One love!
